National Mustard Day

Today is National Mustard Day. We bring awareness to the spicy, mellow, tangy, hot, or sweet yellow condiment. Did you know there is a World Famous Mustard Museum? It is located on Main Street in downtown Mount Horeb, Wisconsin. They boast a display of over 5,000 jars, bottles, and tubes from all 50 states and more than 60 countries. There is a gift shop with over 500 types of mustard available for purchase. I have not had the chance to visit the museum but I have enjoyed searching the website. Can't make it to the museum? They have online ordering by country, variety and even offer a Mustard of the Month club. If you are devoted to the yellow spread you might find a mustard you just have to try.
I found a recipe to make your own Provençale Mustard on the blog 2 Stews. Diane compares this mustard to the flavors of France. Her photos of Paris shops are lovely.
For an interesting recipe on National Mustard Day I spotted Honey Mustard Slaw with Beets and Pancetta from the blog Just Eat Food. It is made with almonds, cabbage, beets and pancetta with a honey mustard sauce. It sounds delicious.
So slather those hot dogs with the yellow goodness, because today is National Mustard Day!
