National Watermelon Day

August 3rd is the day to honor the sweet, summer, picnic fruit known as the watermelon. It is a staple for summer get togethers with many watermelon festivals nationwide. I found a few websites dedicated to watermelon. Watermelon.org has lots of information about this delicious fruit. There is a recipe here for an ambitious Rubik's Cube made of watermelon and cheeses.

Today would be a good day to go to the grocery store or a farmer's market and pick out a watermelon. Enjoy this day of watermelon. Just be careful where you spit the seeds.
