Lets Play Fair - My Giveaway Rules Explained

Monday, January 11, 2010 Posted by Rita A

I wanted to explain my giveaway rules more in detail. I hope to bring you many great giveaways. I want everyone to enjoy entering. I know the majority of you are honest with entering and understand what is being asked. To be fair to everyone, I have been closely monitoring all the entries. It has come to my attention that maybe some folks are not clear about each entry method.

Here is a detailed breakdown of each request:

Mandatory Entry (First entry)
This is required. Please READ the request carefully! Leave a comment with the information asked in the request. This must be done before all other optional additional entries will be valid. I will not accept comments like Count me in! or Enter Me!

Additional optional entries: Eligible after completing mandatory entry above: You can do any or all of the following for one entry each. Please leave a separate comment for each that you have done. These methods are totally optional.

--Follow my blog (see the right side bar to sign up) Already a follower, just leave a comment saying that you are a follower. This can be done by using the Google Friend Connect. It is easily verified.

--Subscribe to my blog (see the right side bar to sign up) Current subscribers are eligible too. You can subscribe to my blog feed by email to keep current with any daily posts. If you do subscribe please verify the subscription for it to be valid.

--Follow me on Twitter It is easy to follow me on twitter. It lets you get my tweets about new giveaways. I see when you follow. I follow many of you back.

--Tweet about this giveaway and leave a link to your tweet (Can tweet once daily). I need a link to your tweet. Copy the status tweet and use that in your comment about tweeting. You can tweet once daily until the end of the giveaway, just leave each tweet status in a comment.

--Post my button on your blog and leave a link to your blog. Grab the button code from my sidebar and place it on your blog in a sidebar or other area you have your blog buttons. Leave a link to where I can find it to verify it is placed.

--FOR 5 EXTRA ENTRIES - Write a blog post about this giveaway, with a link to my blog. Come back and leave the link to your blog post. Post FIVE separate comments that you've blogged about this. This is a very misunderstood rule. Post about the giveaway means writing a small post about the giveaway on your blog with a link back to my giveaway and possibly the sponsors website if requested. READ the entry request please. Posting a simple link or posting my button without a written post is not really a blog post. All it takes is a small sentence or two to fulfill this request. For 5 entries - that is not too much to ask.

--FOR 5 MORE ENTRIES - Make any purchase from xxxxxxxx. Post FIVE separate comments about your purchase. Many of the products I feature are so good I know you might like to make a purchase. If you do, this allows you to have 5 more entries. Please let me know what you have purchased. This will be verified.

Last but not least - Please make sure I have a way to contact you. Look at your blogger profile to see if your email is public. If you do not have a profile please leave your email in your comment. You can spell it out like this: Ima winner at xxxxx dot com and that is just fine. I have had many times where someone has taken all the time to enter the giveaway, they are drawn as the winner, with no way to contact them. I hate when that happens because I want you to win. Don't lose a prize if I can't get a hold of you.

Please reply to the notification emails in a timely manner. 48 Hours after I sent the email. I usually have a time limit to get back to the sponsor after the draw. I want to get your prize to you.

I want my giveaways to be fun, to be fair and to be exciting. I enjoy sharing chances with you to win. I know many of you have been lucky. Please follow the rules. The majority of you are. I hope having a more thorough explanation will help those that may be confused. If you have any questions please leave a comment and I will get back to you. Happy entering!
