Today is National Pie Day!

January 23rd is National Pie Day. Are you a fruit or a cream pie person? In honor of National Pie day I present you with the winner from the Emile Henry National Pie Day Contest.

The Winning Recipe is Italian Apple-Mascarpone Pie with Almond Topping submitted by N. LaRochelle - Miami, FL. This pie sounds delicious.

Several hundred pie-bakers from around the country submitted pie recipes and photos of their pies baked in Emile Henry pie dishes. It must have been a hard decision. Some other recipes entered were Caribbean Island Coconut Chocolate Rum Pie, Maple Bourbon Cran- Apple Pie and Mexican Chocolate Strawberry Pie. For even more recipes visit the Emile Henry website. The one stipulation for entering is all the pies had to be baked in an Emile Henry Pie dish. I have an Emile Henry pie dish and it is fabulous to make a pie in. It adds class to the pie. I plan on trying a few of the recipe entries in the pie contest. The hard part is picking out which One 2 Try.
