FireWire Flexible Grilling Skewer - Giveaway (ends 7/17)

Wednesday, July 07, 2010 Posted by One 2 Try

Did you BBQ on the 4th? I think everyone in our neighborhood did because it smelled so good all day! I decided to make chicken kabobs with my new grilling tool, FireWire Flexible Grilling Skewers.

Making kabobs before was always such a chore. Taking the time to chunk the meats and veggies, marinade the meats then skewer the dripping marinated meats on the skewers. By the time you finsh all the prep, you don't feel like eating it anymore. Now comes a much simpler method to skewer, marinade and grill in easy steps.

Using the FireWire skewers is a breeze. One end of the wire has a big loop to keep the food from slipping off the end. The other end is a tip for easy threading the foods on the FireWire. In no time you have all your meats and veggies loaded on the FireWire. It holds more than twice the amount of foods than regular skewers. Here is where it gets exciting. Simply place the entire loaded FireWire skewer in your marinade. Yes skewer and all goes in the marinade. Because it is flexible, it molds to the container type saving space. Once you are ready to grill, remove the FireWire skewers from the marinade to place directly on the grill. Again the flexibility allows you to utilize all the grilling area. While cooking, turning the skewer is so handy. Grab the end, with tongs of course, and flip. The foods will not fall off. Grilling made simple with FireWire!

My chicken kabobs were so fast to make. I loved the marinating step. I placed my loaded FireWire in a zipper bag with the marinade and presto, everything was nicely seasoned. When grilling, I was able to lay the FireWire skewers in a circle for even cooking. Handy! Leaving the tip off the grill as suggested, it was easy to flip the skewers over. All the chicken cooked well and did not fall off at all. They were yummy! Clean up was easy too. The skewers are made of flexible stainless steel cable that is dishwasher safe! With the help of FireWire, I can plan on making more skewers for grilling!

You can purchase FireWire Flexible Grilling Skewers in a 2 pack at retailers nationwide or at online retailers.

I learned that when you make bad meals your life becomes black and white :)

I also realized you could grill shrimps I've never tried that!

  3. Danielle said...

I actually have never tried kabobs as I'm a cooking novice, but my first try would probably be steak tips, shrimps (now that I know you can grill them too), and pineapples.

I watched the video and learned that with FireWire you can drape the kebab "handle" off the edge of the grill so it doesn't get hot. This is a problem I encounter with kebabs--the handle gets dangerously hot. I also learned that the FireWire is made with stainless steel and doesn't rust. Thanks!

I love all kebabs! I use beef, chicken, or pork with green and red peppers, onion, mushrooms, cherry tomatoes, sometimes pineapple. It's all good!
