Do you have someone that is very hard to purchase gifts for? Are you stumped on what to give loves ones or special friends? The kitchenware retailer Sur La Table has joined forces with author Diane Morgan to create a new cookbook, Gifts Cooks Love: Recipes for Giving.
Share the warmth of a sweet gift or a delightful drink and other home made goodies. These are fine gifts for anyone who enjoys food and drink.
Inside Gifts Cooks Love, you will find recipes ranging from easy skill levels to more complex. The recipe categories include:
Sweet Preserved Gifts
Smoked, Cured and Dried Gifts
Confections & Chocolate Gifts
There are also tips and ideas for decorative packaging as well as Make-a-gift kits. I have always loved the idea of themed gifts. Using some of the recipes in Gifts Cooks Love, you add the components into a larger theme gift for a complete package. You could expand the ideas even further by including maybe movie tickets in the Retro Popcorn Kit, or some BBQ utensils with the Grill Kit. The possibilities are endless.
One of my favorite recipes in Gifts Cooks Love is the Toasted Coconut Marshmallows. I have always wanted to make home made marshmallows. There is a beautiful Biscotti Christmas Tree recipe where the graduated sizes of the biscotti are stacked into a lovely Christmas tree perfect for a brunch or dessert table. Who would have thought of something so uniquely presented? I love to make mini quick breads and in Gifts Cooks Love there is a recipe for Mini Apricot and Crystallized Ginger Quick Breads. There really is something for every taste in Gifts Cooks Love. Make your gift giving special this season, make something from the heart and your kitchen of course.
