The look of the Rubbermaid Reveal is pretty snazzy. It feels high quality too. It is strong and not flimsy in any way. I like the idea of the velcro like grip of the re-usable, machine washable pad. It really grips. I was afraid it would fall off, but once you have the pad attached, it is not going anywhere. It will stay put until you remove it for cleaning. Pop it in the washer and you are ready for the next time. How handy is that! I love the idea of using my own solutions to clean with. The savings in purchasing cleaning supplies are a major plus! I made a simple vinegar cleaning solution: 2 tablespoons white vinegar, 2 to 3 drops of liquid soap, fill the rest of the solution bottle with hot water. Snap the bottle in the unit and spray to dispense. The pad does the rest. It cleaned my floors so well. I figured the amount of solution cost was around three cents! That is right three cents for clean floors. I have wood floors too so I made a solution specifically for wood floors using 2 tablespoons ammonia, 1/2 cup white vinegar. 1/2 teaspoon of baby shampoo and hot water to fill the solution bottle. A simple click into the handle and I was ready to clean the hardwood floors. Again for pennies. I am keeping the solution handy for quick clean ups when I need it. Rubbermaid Reveal makes it easy!

I have been experimenting with different soaps lately. I like to find soaps that make my skin feel good with lovely scents. A great soap I found is Goat Milk Stuff.
Goat Milk Stuff is a family owned and operated company. Each aspect of the soap making process, including raising and milking the goats to making the soaps, to packaging is a ten member family enterprise. Even the little ones get involved by slipping the soaps into the individual bags. The Jonas family each takes part in doing what it takes for Goat Milk Stuff. I adore the video filmed by a local news team all about the Jonas Family. Check it out here. It is very interesting and the children are darling.
The soaps are incredible. The selection of scents is enticing. They have over 30 scents. Each bar is hand made from start to finish. The raw goats milk makes the soaps creamy. Each scent is made in batches then hand cut to cure for a minimum of 6 weeks.

Not only does the soap come in lovely scents, the colors match the scent! You can order the bars in 3 different sizes too. The Full bar is a 5 to 6 oz bar and comes in a cotton bag. The half bar - 2 to 3 oz unwrapped, and the travel size bar - .6 to .9 oz unwrapped. The hard part is choosing the scent you would like.
I chose two scents I knew I had to try. The first being Chardonnay: The sweet smell of chardonnay is a light, fruity bouquet with just a hint of alcohol scent to really brighten it up. I love the refreshing smell of the Chardonnay soap. It is light and not overpowering. The color is a rich cream color. I love the way the soap feels on my skin. It lathers nicely and left my skin feeling soft without a sticky residue. My second scent is the Fiji Island: This green and yellow swirled bar carries the scents of coconuts, limes, and lemon verbena. This scent is very tropical. You can smell the lemon overtones. It is an uplifting, energizing scent. Perfect for those sleepy eye mornings. I love it!

Take it all off Thursday! - Nutrisystem Update

I considered it a semi-trial period for maintaining the loss without the Nutrisystem foods. I managed to stay the same! I am still at 18 pounds lost. I did not lose anything because I was without my foods but even more exciting is that being off the foods, I did not gain anything! I guess I am learning better nutrition. Well I would like to think so anyway. I was aware of some old bad habits creeping back in during those weeks. I tend to not eat the 3 meals a day with 2 snacks on a normal basis. I find myself eating just 2 meals and maybe one snack. I probably need to eat on a regular schedule to keep my metabolism up. I get so busy I do not stop to eat when I should. Bad habit because once you get to eat something you are ravenous in hunger. I have been doing well with choosing good foods to eat so I know I am okay in that respect. As they say, losing weight is the easy part, keeping it off is where the work begins.
I am so glad that my Nutrisystem foods have arrived. I even got some new foods I had not had before. I like that. The variety keeps me motivated. I had a yummy Creamy Caesar Salad Dressing with Diced Chicken, a Cinnamon Bun, a Banana Nut Muffin and a real tasty Turkey Tetrazzini. YUM!
I discovered I like the structure of the plan the best. The foods are the cherry on top! With such a variety of foods, the meals are a real treat. Take a look at all the delicious foods available on the Women's Basic plan dinner menu.

They are so good! Each crisp is filled with fruit flavor. The texture is much like a chip but it is all fruit. You can feel good snacking on these Fruit Crisps. The all fruit keeps the calories low. In Stacie's own words: I am the mother of two beautiful girls and I live in Nova Scotia, Canada. I began my blog in December 2008 after discovering the world of blog reviews and giveaways. I thought it looked like fun and something I could do as a stay at home mom. I started out by hosting my own giveaways for stuff I had at home. I remember how excited I was when I was contacted to do my first review! It just kind of grew from there!Since then, my blog has grown in leaps and bounds. I still do reviews and giveaways, but have started branching out into social media and helping other bloggers. I always do my best to share my finds with others either on blog or my Facebook page. I have a team of reviewers (both book and product) from the US & Canada who are fabulous ladies to work with. I love talking to my readers and other bloggers and am always trying to think of new and fun things to do with my blog! Its been a great ride so far!

Elements as Money was one of my favorite chapters. We learn how chemicals are used for counterfit prevention and why certain countries currency is designed the way it is. Did you also know that the original book of The Wizard of OZ - Dorothy's slippers are silver and she walks on the golden road to the green city thought to symbolize the values of silver versus gold. Amazing! The Disappearing Spoon is filled with stories based around the elements. This is the type of book my dad would pour over cover to cover. From the Big Bang to the Gandhi and many more stories of our interactions with the sciences, this is a fun book to read more about the world around us and how the elements have affected it.

I was browsing for chairs the other day and found this amazing variety. I adore the Ball Chair. I have always wanted one of those funky chairs. Boy I am feeling pretty old with this birthday. I have been having those moments of "what have I done with my life?" and "where do I go from here?". I am in the midlife blues of sorts. Part of me wants to run around Disneyland with balloons and popcorn, while part of me wants to look at a new comfy recliner chair.
The rebel side of me told hubby, I wanted a new sports car or a Harley Trike. I can see myself as a motorcycle mama, traveling the roads on my Harley Trike. If I keep pushing for the trike, maybe I will get the sports car. (LOL). So another year, another cake and hear I go kicking and screaming into adulthood. I have always said - you are never too old to have a happy childhood! I can always put streamers on my recliner chair. I am how old?
